Spirited WHS parades through town
The weather accommodated and the participants assented during Woodburn High School's Homecoming parade Friday.Teachers, parents, a few pets and mobs of youngsters lined the streets as the high school pep crews snaked through the traditional parade route, setting out near Tukwila area and returning an hour later at the school's Front Steet entry.
Float personas included the Woodburn Bulldog mascot, a variety of clubs and success students, Homecoming royalty, rally squads, Future Farmers of America, WHS pep band and public safety personnel, kindling Woodburn's small-town charm and local pride as roll through its hour-long, circular route.
A boon to the youngsters on Front Street was the float riders seemingly rationed their handfuls of flung candies, spreading an equal amount out for the sweet-toothed along the home stretch as they did along the Boones Ferry Road audience near French Prairie Middle School and Lincoln Elementary.
