FRENCH PRAIRIE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Kiara Rios Torres — 6th grade
Kiara is the daughter of AnaLaura and Jesus Rios and has two siblings, Kaylee and Kamilah.
Her favorite class at French Prairie is math. After graduating from high school, Kiara would like to continue her education to become an orthodontist.
One of her teachers said, "Kiara is a conscientious student. She works hard and completes quality work. She is polite to other students and staff. She is a joy to have in class."
Victoria Carey — 7th grade
Victoria's favorite class is math. She is also involved in volleyball and track.
After high school, Victoria is interested in becoming a lawyer. Recently, a lawyer visited Victoria's AVID class, and she was able to ask many questions about that career.
According to one of her teachers, "Victoria is a very gifted and energetic student. She is always engaged in class and is willing to go above and beyond in her work."
Isabella Boen — 8th grade
Isabella's favorite activities in school are science, math, and basketball. After graduating from high school, she plans to go to college and be successful and make people happy.
"Izzy is a responsible student who works hard in class and is kind to her peers," one of her teachers said. "She is an absolute pleasure to have in class."
NORTH MARION MIDDLE SCHOOL
Lucas Alan Kratochvil — 6th grade
Lucas is the son of Lisa and Chris Kratochvil. He has one younger sibling, Ethan.
Lucas likes to read fantasy books like Harry Potter, draws whatever comes to mind, talk with friends and hang out in his favorite class: Humanities.
While he isn't entirely sure what to do after high school, he would like to go to college to become a gemologist.
All of Lucas's teachers agree that he is an excellent addition to their classrooms. He is proactive about his education, staying on top of his grades, and even making corrections to near-perfect assignments. Furthermore, his good-nature helps to build classroom communities as he offers help to those who do not understand an assignment.
Jesus Barba Benavides — 7th grade
Jesus is the son of Jose and Maria Barba and has three siblings — Omar, Christopher and Sergio.
His favorite class in school is PE, and he enjoys playing soccer.
After graduating from high school, Jesus wants to go to college to pursue a career in construction and engineering.
Alex Urena Castenada — 8th grade
Alex is the son of Gabriel & Maria. He has one sibling, Erick.
The North Marion middle school student's favorite class is math, and he enjoys being a member of the Chess Club.
After graduating high school, Alex wants to go to college, possibly Oregon State University to become an engineer. Alex enjoys traveling and would also like to travel after graduating from high school.
One of Alex's teachers writes, "Alex is a fantastic student whom I can always rely on. He is kind and helpful towards others, is respectful towards his peers and adults and strives to do what is right and best for all. I have seen on many occasions when Alex will help out a peer or teacher without being asked. He is very responsible with his academics and makes sure he is prepared, completing assignments correctly and striving for his best. Alex is also involved in our school's music program and is in Advanced Band."
