Metropolis in downtown Woodburn plans a post-Thanksgiving night life event and fundraiser.

COURTESY OF NOE VALENZUELA - Live music will be part of the Club M event, scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings after Thanksgiving at the Metropolis in downtown Woodburn. It's sort of like a night out at the club and a fundraiser rolled into one.

Club M is scheduled to take on Friday and Saturday nights following Thanksgiving, Nov. 28-29, at the Metropolis in downtown Woodburn, 347 N. Front St.

Property Manager and event organizer Noe Valenzuela said Club M is, more-or-less, testing the waters of how much interest there would be for this type of offering downtown. But it is also serving as a fundraiser for Proyecto Ireta Sanjeronimo.

That project aims to build public restroom facilities near the San Jerónimo Purenchecuaro Cemetery in Mexico, a cause supported by State Rep. Teresa Alonso Leon.

"I donated (to Proyecto) because I believe that our elders and our folks with disabilities should live in dignity. And helping build public restrooms near the San Jeronimo Purenchecuaro Cemetery with accommodations for them will accomplish this goal," Alonso Leon said.

In light of that, 50% of the evening's entry fee will be donated to that project.

Club M will also include live music, while happy hour specials will be served at Tito's Bar at 6 p.m. and upstairs at Club M at 9 p.m. Cover charge is $5 before 10 p.m. and $10 after 10 p.m. for information, visit or contact Noe at 503-989-2318, HYPERLINK "mailto:This email address is being protected from spambots.
