Court date set for man charged with sexual abuse
HUBBARD — A local man who has been charged with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse is currently undergoing psychological evaluation to determine his fitness to proceed in court.
Hubbard Police arrested Jerry Glenn Baker, Jr., on May 5 on the felony sexual-abuse charges. Baker, 51, has been lodged in the Marion County Correctional Facility.
Court records show that Baker is charged with committing five counts of first-degree sexual abuse between Jan. 1, 2020, and May 5, 2020, to a person who was mentally incapacitated and unable to give consent.
The records also indicate a history of arrests for Baker dating back to misdemeaner menacing in November of 2000 and fourth-degree assalt, for which he was convicted in April of 2004. Baker had subsequent convictions for assault and/or harassment in 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2017.
In May 2018, Baker was sentenced to 36 months of supervised probation.
