Man charged with Woodburn burglary
Woodburn Police arrested a man from rural-Silverton in connection with a burglary reported on Feb. 17 at Casa Marquez Mexican Grill in the 500 block of Front Street.
WPD reported that the burglary took place while the business was without power due to the recent ice storm. Officers and investigators developed evidence they said connected Carl Martushev, 30, of the Victor Point area, to the burglary.
WPD spokesman Tommy Moore said investigators served a property search warrant on Monday, Feb. 22, at a residence in the 4000 block of Victor Point Road and uncovered evidence from the burglary before taking Martushev into custody.
Martushev has been charged with aggravated theft, burglary and criminal mischief.
WPD is asking anyone with information about the burglary to call officer Jonny Ellis or Detective Aaron Devoe at 503-982-2345.
