Plan ahead and enjoy the Tulip Fest
A year ago Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm was ready to roll out its annual Tulip Fest, and then the pandemic set in.
The festival's planners hoped that they could work around the shutdowns that were occurring all around, given that the farm affords 100 acres where people could sprawl out and safely distance themselves. But the rapidity of the COVID-19 spread coupled with the limited time for which to plan around it ended up forcing the cancellation of 2020 Tulip Fest, just as it had with nearly every other ensuing festival and gathering over the course of the year.
This year the planners are ready. Tulip Fest is a go, albeit with changing accommodations to ensure safety.
First and foremost, there will be no ticket sales at the gate; all ticket sales will be done online. This is necessary to regulate attendance to ensure safety.
Moreover, Tulip Fest activities will be limited, while the continued pandemic scenario has compelled planners to be flexible, which means activities will be subjected to change.
Parking, walking access to the 40 acres of tulip fields, a children's play area, tram and hay rides to and from the fields are all in the works, the same as previous years.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm encourages attendees to plan ahead and purchase tickets well in advance of your visit. Day passes will need to be redeemed during a specific chosen hour, and attendees can stay until closing, which is 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m. on weekends.
The farm has made safety a priority, and within that scenario State of Oregon pandemic safety guidelines will be in place. Keeping in mind that any public event can potentially expose people to COVID-19 and the virus poses a serious health rise, guests should be attentive to all safety measures to ensure a pleasant visit for everyone.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
