First response crews arrived at the scene at Arbor Grove Road Northeast at St. Paul Highway Northeast and discovered that the crash involved a Honda motorcycle and a Toyota Tacoma. The motorcycle operator, Adrian Lazaro Rocha, 37, of Hubbard, had serious injuries and was transported by Life Flight. He succumbed to those injuries Monday night.

MCSO said the preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on St. Paul Highway when it struck the Toyota traveling northbound on Arbor Grove Road. Investigators believe that speed and alcohol use by the motorcyclist contributed to the crash.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma has been identified as Marleina Heim, 32, of Sherwood.

The sheriff's office said speeding drivers and crashes were common throughout the weekend.

"Over Memorial Day weekend our deputies made several stops of drivers going over 100 miles per hour and received reports of over 20 different crashes throughout Marion County," MCSO Sgt. Don Parise of the Traffic Safety Team, said. "It only takes a few seconds to change the lives of an entire family forever. Please remind your friends and family to slow down and drive responsibly."
