The North Marion School District is hosting open houses in August to showcase bond measure projects and to offer our gratitude to voters

COURTESY PHOTO: JILLIAN DALEY - North Marion School District is holding a series of open houses so community memebers can see the new facilities, upgraded by money from a district bond.North Marion School District announced that with the completion of its bond construction and the approval of state regulations, the district is inviting the community to take tours of the campus to showcase work voters made possible when they approved NMSD Measure 24-426 by 60% in 2017. Because of the $42.2 million bond, the NMSD was able to:

•Begin adding security systems to protect our about 1,800 students and 230 staff members;

•Improve or rebuild all of the parking lots;

Raise a two-story academic wing at the High School to replace old classrooms;

•Resurface the High School track;

•Install new roofs at the Middle, Intermediate, and Primary schools;

•Update and expand locker rooms for the Middle School and High School;

•Build a covered play area to protect the Primary and Intermediate students from the rain;

•Retrofit the Middle School gym and High School gym and locker rooms with seismic upgrades.

Classes of 10 and later: 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6
