Woodburn caregivers awarded
French Prairie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been recognized as a 2021 Silver Achievement in Quality Award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which spotlights providers across the nation that have demonstrated their dedication to improving quality of care for residents and individuals with disabilities in long term and post-acute care.
"I am so incredibly proud of our frontline heroes during an unprecedented COVID year filled with so many challenges," said Karla Hunt, administrator of French Prairie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. "We are honored to be recognized by AHCA/NCAL and look forward to continuing in our tradition of providing quality resident care."
Created by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is a three-level process that is reviewed and judged by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance to improve quality of life and care of long-term care residents and staff. At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve organizational performance and health care outcomes.
"Reaching the Silver Award level successfully while also compassionately and heroically protecting and caring for residents during a pandemic is remarkable," AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers Chair Tammy Kelly said. "I applaud the resiliency and dedication of French Prairie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for continuing their quality improvement journey and for this outstanding achievement."
As a 2021 recipient of the Silver award, French Prairie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center can now advance in further developing comprehensive approaches that meet the criteria required for Gold Excellence in Quality Award.
The awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL's 72nd Convention & Expo in National Harbor, Maryland right outside Washington, D.C., which will be held from Oct. 10-13, 2021.
