A Friday morning crash on Highway 99E near Boones Ferry Road claimed the life of a Woodburn resident

A crash on Highway 99E near its intersection with Boones Ferry Road claimed the life of one Woodburn resident and left another hospitalized.

Oregon State Police reported that at around 11:36 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, troopers and emergency personnel responded to the two-vehicle crash. The investigation indicated that a Nissan Versa operated by Francisco Alvarez Brionez, 80, of Woodburn entered 99E and collided with a Peterbilt dump truck operated by Ronald Bode, 66, of Warren.

A passenger in the Versa, Judith Harley, 77, of Woodburn, sustained fatal injuries. Alvarez Brionez was transported to Salem Hospital with serious injuries. Bode was uninjured.

In addition to OSP, Gervais Police, Woodburn Fire and ODOT responded to the scene.
