Hoodview Church of God will feature 'I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day' Sunday

PMG FILE PHOTO - Musicians Roger and Nancy Wilhite will headline the David M. Dougherty Scholarship Concert at Hoodview Church of God."I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," a brand-new CD featuring sacred and seasonal selections by Peggy Dougherty and Roger & Nancy Wilhite, will be introduced at a special Christmas Concert at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the sale of the CD benefit the David M. Dougherty Scholarship Fund that honors the legacy of former Hoodview Church Pastor Dave Dougherty, who started a scholarship fund to assist students in their education pursuits.

Pastor Dave originally started raising money by shooting basketball free throws. His efforts soon switched to an annual concert.

With COVID-19 restrictions last year, a CD project featuring Peggy Dougherty was substituted for the concert. This year's concert will feature several selections from the new Christmas CD, along with a Christmas singalong.

Refreshments will be served.
