The concert series will run through Aug. 13 when the group Best Night Ever will play at the park from 7 to 10 p.m. as part of the 33rd Aurora Colony Days.
"There are a set of concerts that happen in succession prior to the finale," Aurora City Recorder Stuart Rodgers said.
Following Bales, succeeding park concerts are: The Norman Sylvester Band, 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20; Too Loose Cajun/Zydeco Band, 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27; The Ben Rice Blues Band, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3; Best Night Ever, 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.
The concerts are free, and there will be food, beverages and treats each night at the park.
The city will host its Aurora Colony Days Aug. 12-14 in the Main Street Park, beginning with a parade that loops the park and several other blocks. Festivities will include a wide variety of events and activities, including a pancake breakfast, market in the park, outdoor antiques market downtown, car show, historical museum visits and the Colony Classic Disc Golf Tournament.
