The Aurora Colony Days drew scads of incomers and locals alike as visitors and participants of the event were treated with a healthy slice of Americana over the Aug. 12-14 weekend. Downtown vendors were literally on the streets with their wares, while browsers perused everything from vintage homemaking machines to heaps of books to toys — all with a backdrop of live music late Saturday morning.PMG PHOTO: JUSTIN MUCH - Face painting was among the multiple activities in the park during the Aurora Colony Days Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022.

More venders set up at Aurora City Park where one could find everything from a face painting to lawn art to a pitch to adopt a pet cat.

Meanwhile, a motley lot lined up to make the parade a pleasing spectacle as spectators lined Main and Liberty streets while the procession looped the environs, beginning and ending at the park.

Parade participants provided a varied and delightful composition to the festive atmosphere: a winning North Marion nine; Canby Rodeo Court on horseback; a Dixieland band; Knights of Pythias; a family dentistry contingent; Maters Buzzing Beauties "bee-decked" out for the stroll; North Marion Community Library Association; Power Pep Band out of Portland; Pastor Craig Johnson catching a ride with City Recorder Stuart Rodgers; a pony toting a carriage of Claire and Lady; Aurora Composite Squadron; a mounted county patrol; public safety galore and Mayor Brian Asher.PMG PHOTO: JUSTIN MUCH - Canby Rodeo Court rides through the parade during the Aurora Colony Days Saturday, Aug. 13.

"Party at the Farm" was the bannered words from Old Aurora Colony Museum which featured a beautiful float draped with appropriate hop vines pulled by stately working horses. The museum touted free entry throughout the event.

Classic autos rounded things out with the event's 4th Annual Car Show, while the swansong of the Concerts in the Park series — Best Night Ever with special guest The Pride of Portland -- played Saturday evening, while disc golfers wrapped up the weekend with Sunday tourney play in the park.PMG PHOTO: JUSTIN MUCH - Stepping right along during the Aurora Colony Days parade Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022.

The 2022 edition marked the 33rd Aurora Colony Days, which dates back to 1989.
