We would like to express our thanks and admiration to Jess Cuomo, the staff at the City of Woodburn Parks & Recreation Department and many dedicated volunteers for a very special evening. On Friday night, February 22nd, they hosted "Movie Night at the Bungalow Theatre."
What a success! The theatre was transformed into a magical event space. The decorations were gorgeous and there were many inspired touches as well-a photo booth to record the event, unlimited popcorn and delicious hors d'oeuvres.
A silent auction of an array of charming & useful items (donated) was held. All auction items were contained in lovely handsewn market bags.
Proceeds of the auction will benefit Friends of the Bungalow Theatre. The movie choice was perfect, the classic "Singin' in the Rain". We hope this event will be the first of many at the Bungalow Theatre as a great time was had by all. The city has received a grant to help with restoration, with a new roof and seismic upgrade to begin in March. The volunteer group, Friends of the Bungalow Theatre, are working hard to make the theatre into a valuable community asset. They really need our support to make this a reality. Kudos to all involved!
