More than 100 businesses and civic groups, countless volunteers supported the efforts of Love Santa, Inc. this year

PMG FILE PHOTO - Volunteers for Love Santa, Inc. spend countless hours each year gathering, wrapping and distributing Christmas presents to families in northern Marion County.Love Santa, Inc. is a local non-profit 501.3c organization that provides a hearty meal and gifts for children 16-years old and younger, to families living in the Woodburn, Hubbard, Donald, and Aurora areas. We hold multiple sign up sessions in November at the Woodburn City Hall. We partner with St. Vincent DePaul (St. Luke's Church) to serve the families in our area.

The 2019 Love Santa, Inc. distribution successfully helped more than 410 families in the Woodburn, Hubbard, Donald, and Aurora areas on Saturday, Dec. 14. This was only possible with the amazing community support! Community support comes in many forms, including monetary donations, equipment donations, volunteer time, use of facilities, expertise and experience, and donations of food and gifts.

Monetary donations from multiple civic groups, businesses, individuals allowed Love Santa, Inc. to purchase additional food and gifts for each family. Local businesses like Webb Chiropractic and Long Bros. Building Supply provided generous monetary donations and were a drop off site for donations of gifts, food, and money. Dutch Bros, held a support 'Love Santa day' which raised $2,280. More than 100 businesses and civic groups supported the efforts of Love Santa, Inc. this year!

PMG FILE PHOTO - Robert Prinslow, president of Love Santa, Inc.Equipment and facility donations are another essential piece of the path to serving the local families each year. Easy Storage provides a place to store donated items throughout the year. Woodburn Foursquare Church provides the facility to prepare and distribute the gifts and food to the local families. Al's Garden Center provides shopping carts to move the items during Distribution Week. Republic Services provides a dumpster to recycle cardboard. Salem Health and Portland television stations, KGW and Fox12, provided hundreds of toys and gifts. US Foods provides a driver and semi-truck to transport food purchased for the food boxes.

Volunteers are the backbone of the process. Volunteers put in more than 950 hours in just 11 days! Volunteers signed up families at the Woodburn City Hall. Volunteers joined us from multiple school districts including Woodburn, North Marion, St. Paul, and Canby. Volunteers bagged onions from Upland Produce, potatoes from Iverson Farms, Apples and pears from Bauman's Farm. Volunteers wrapped gifts for more than 1,080 children.

The efforts of Love Santa, Inc. are truly a community event! The greater community joins together making it possible to support so many local families. The only Christmas gifts some families can provide are the gifts they receive through this effort.

On behalf of the Love Santa, Inc. Board of Directors I want to thank the community for supporting the efforts of Love Santa, Inc again this year!

Thank you.

— Robert Prinslow is the President of Love Santa, Inc.
