Faithfully: Say it out loud
There is reason to hope. God has provided all we need to get through this. I will explain.
I was thrilled to find the book, "The Priestly Prayer of the Blessing." It's subtitle: "The Ancient Secret of the Only Prayer in the Bible Written by God Himself."
In his introduction, author Warren Marcus says, "This book introduces the reader to a new and life-changing relationship with the heavenly Father as He makes Himself available to us in a way that's tangible. I believe this is the time when the heavenly Father is going to make Himself known to the church in a way like never before."
That fits what God has been showing me: His love for us is deep and immense and right in front of our faces. I imagine God's spirit pouring this encouraging insight upon us. This is God's current events, from of old. News and social media say their points, but God is the beginning and the end. He has always said he loves us and will take care of us.
We've known for years the richness of Psalm 91. Any catastrophe that could happen is covered with God's promise of safety and rescue. All he asks is that we go to him and hang on to him as if we are attached with superglue.
Now see Numbers 6:24-27, by which God wants to claim ownership of and responsibility for us. I've known this prayer for years and just discovered the Hebrew understanding — the visuals that go along with the English words in our Bibles.
Listen up! I know God's presence when I pronounce these truths over myself. Numbers 6:23 says God wants his children to declare these truths. Since God wants to bless us, let's be obedient and ask him to bless us.
Here's the Hebrew understanding. Say it out loud. Claim it for yourself, "May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), kneel before you making Himself available to you (like a good Father kneeling before his child) in order to minister and bestow His gifts and promises.
May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), guard you with a hedge of thorny protection that will prevent Satan and all your enemies from harming your body, soul, mind and spirit, your loved ones and all your possessions.
May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), illuminate the wholeness of his being toward you — continually bringing you to order so that you will fulfill your God-given destiny and purpose.
May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), provide you with perfect love and fellowship — never leaving you — and give you sustenance, provision and friendship.
May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), lift up and carry his fullness of being toward you (bringing EVERYTHING that He is to your aid) supporting you with His DIVINE EMBRACE and His ENTIRE BEING.
May your Heavenly Father, (He who exists), set in place all you need to be whole and complete so you can walk in victory, moment by moment, by the power of the Holy Spirit. May He give you supernatural health, supernatural peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfection, fullness, rest, harmony, as well as the absence of agitation and discord.
Marcus has written a 221-page book on this prayer, but I am limited here. His website: warrenmarcus.com.
God has provided for you by offering His entire self. Everything that God has belongs to you if everything that you have (including your life) belongs to Him. What a wonderful trade!
