Reader believes problems in the schools stem from rooted, pre pandemic problems.

This is in reference to the Our Opinion editorial printed in the March 16 issue of the Woodburn Independent by the editorial board of Pamplin Media Group titled "Student stress is real and needs immediate attention."

The Pamplin Media Group Editorial Group tried but left a number of relevant questions unanswered.

How many of the local students that are having trouble today would have been having trouble before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and for the same reason teachers not doing their jobs?

I know because of test results released to our local district's school board meeting showed that over half of that district's sixth-grade students weren't reading at even a 4th-grade level at the beginning of that school year more than a year before COVID-19 struck.

Two years of make-do, politically-correct education later, how can we expect these struggling students to not be having problems?

Even then the local superintendent and building administrators knew what needed to be done. It wouldn't be popular with the teachers' union leadership, some of the voters that elect the board members and a few blowhard parents.

President Biden and Governor Brown have done a great job making bad problems with no readily apparent solutions worse with their panicky and incompetent solutions to the problems that they are facing.

President Biden and Governor Brown have destroyed their public confidence by repeatedly lying to the public, by listening to the yes men in the mass media being proven repeatedly incorrect in their pronouncements, and by being associated with certain families in the Democratic Machine that have made large sums of money from political corruption and organized crime.

For Oregon citizens the solution to many of their problems will start on May 17 primary election day in the state of Oregon.
