WFD quick response appreciated
I am writing to say thank you to the Woodburn Fire Department, firefighters and EMTs.
During these times of so much negativity, I want to say how fabulous the WFD is. How very lucky we are to have them here, available and willing to help when called and when needed.
I have traveled around the world and this (quality of service) is not always the case.
On Friday, May 18, my 53-year-old friend, Tammy, fell backward down her back door steps and landed on the concrete walk -- hitting her head and body hard. She managed to get a neighbor's assistance and the neighbor called me. I went right down the street to her home. I immediately called 911 for an ambulance.
The WFD truck responded within just minutes. The EMTs talked to Tammy, assuring her they would help her. They were caring, knowledgeable and so reassuring.
I am a former administrator of an Alzheimer's facility here in Woodburn for 18 years. During that time, I had to call WFD Firefighters & EMTs many times. They always responded promptly. Each time they showed that same attentiveness, knowledge & caring. Thank you, WFD -- you are fabulous.
After a brief interlude at hospital, Tammy is doing very well, thanks to that very prompt care.
