Talented local siblings are the featured act in the upcoming 'Who's on Third?' community concert

Our first post-pandemic "Who's on Third?" community concert performance was well attended and a rousing success, and we hope that our November concert will be equally well attended and successful. COURTESY PHOTO: GIANELLI FAMILY - The Gianella Family (Logan, Colby and Amelia) will perform at Woodburn United Methodist Church on Nov. 19.

The concert will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Woodburn United Methodist Church, 700 N. Cascade Dr. (just south of the Cascade Park Retirement complex).

It will feature the Gianella Family (Logan, Colby and Amelia). These extremely talented siblings have performed for previous "Who's on Third?" concerts, as well as entertaining at Coffee Hour at The Estates in Woodburn.

Logan has just graduated from Oregon State University with a double major in Music and Bio Health. Colby is a junior, on a Musical scholarship, at the University of Oregon. Amelia is a junior at North Marion High School and has a gig playing piano two nights a week at the elegant Allison Hotel and Spa in Newberg.

Separately, each has enriched the congregations of three Churches. Logan had played the piano and sung at Immanuel Lutheran in Woodburn for 6 years. Amelia plays the piano, organ and is the lead vocalist at Christ Lutheran in Aurora. Colby accepted the position of Music Director at the Church of God in Eugene last year.

They, as a group and as individuals, have entertained in multiple retirement and nursing homes. All three siblings have been students of Roger Wilhite, who has provided musical mentoring and guidance to all three.

"We all attribute a large portion of our musical training to Roger," Colby said.

The Nov. 19 concert will feature solos, duets and trio (ensemble) pieces. Logan plans to share some of the pieces he prepared and performed at his recent OSU Senior Recital.

The concert performance time will run approximately an hour with no Intermission. All "Who's on Third?" concerts are open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to support this community concert series. For now, we will not be passing the offering plates, but ushers will be stationed at all the doors for you to drop your free-will donation into the plate either before or after the performance.

We also recommend that you consider wearing a mask if you are concerned about sitting close to other people, since we will not be able to spread out the audience.

We hope to have another great turnout for this ever-popular community event. Be sure to mark your calendars and invite a friend or neighbor to join you. This is a great opportunity to get into the Thanksgiving mood by enjoying another extremely entertaining concert.

We look forward to seeing you there.
