North Marion and St. Paul high schools will each hold 2015 Hall of Fame induction ceremonies over the course of the next month in an effort to honor the athletes, coaches, supporters and staff members who have made the biggest impact to each of the schools over the course of their history.

North Marion

The North Marion Athletic Hall of Fame will celebrate its fourth class of inductees, honoring six former athletes and/or coaches.

The 2015 class includes:

Randy Brack (Class of 1972)

* Three-sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball.

* Shortstop on the 1971 state championship baseball team.

* First Team All-State.

* Entering his 30th season as head baseball coach.

* Nine conference championships.

* Five state semifinal appearances.

* Oregon High School Coaches Hall of Fame member.

Craig Brown (Class of 1966)

* Three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track and field.

* Set the state long jump record in 1966

* Fouth place in long jump in 1965.

* Second place in 440-yard dash in 1966.

* University of Oregon track and field team member from 1967-68.

Kory Casto (Class of 2000)

* Two-sport athlete in basketball and baseball.

* 3A All-State baseball honoree in 1999 and 2000.

* 3A Player of the Year in 2000.

* Played for the University of Portland baseball team in 2001-03.

* Freshman All-American in 2001.

* All-WCC Honorable Mention in 2002.

* All-WCC Second Team in 2003.

* Played for the Washington Nationals from 2007-08.

Tammy Halter (Class of 1984)

* Three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and track and field.

* Leading scorer on state champion girls basketball team in 1983.

* Member of third-place team in 1984.

* First Team All-State in 1983 and 1984.

* 1984 State Player of the Year.

* Member of the University of Oregon basketball team from 1985-1989.

Ford Stigall (Class of 1991)

* AA state wrestling champion in 1991.

* AA state wrestling runner up in 1990.

* AA state wrestling fifth place in 1989.

* Coached wrestling team to third, sixth, fifth and 10th place finishes in consecutive seasons from 2010-13.

* Current assistant coach to wrestling team.

Bernadine “Bernie” Ward

* Advisor, teacher and coach from the 1950s-1980s.

* Advisor for the North Marion Girls Athletic Association before girls sports were given equal status with boys.

* PE instructor, tennis coach and track coach.

The ceremony will be held in the North Marion High School commons at 6 p.m. on Oct. 17. Tickets are $25 per person or a table of eight for $185, and includes a barbecue chicken dinner.

St. Paul

On Friday, the St. Paul School District will celebrate the induction of four individuals and one team into the St. Paul Hall of Fame.

The special induction ceremony will take place during half-time of the Hall of Fame football game vs. Creswell High School.

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to formally recognize outstanding contributions to the heritage and tradition of the St. Paul School District. The Hall of Fame will honor and preserve the memory of students, teachers, athletes, teams, coaches, and supporters whose achievements have brought recognition and honor to the district.

The criterion for selection not only includes achievement while in the St. Paul School District, but possibly other accomplishments in post high school activities. Candidates are eligible through one of five classifications: academics, athletics, honorary/military, school district employee, school district booster.

The 2015 inductees include:

* Standout high school and college athlete Karen Case.

* Standout educator and Oregon’s first African American head basketball coach James Winters (posthumously).

* Long-time dedicated supporter and school board member Bob Coleman (Posthumously).

* Long-time supporter and district employee Dee McKillip

* The 1959 state finalist football team.
