Senior Sebastian Powers-Leach and freshman Lucas Toth lead boys team

The North Marion swim team put a cap on the 2016-17 season at the Special District 3 Championships on Friday and Saturday, hosted by the Philomath Warriors.

The Huskies were led by the boys team, which scored 90 points and was paced by freshman Lucas Toth and senior Sebastian Powers-Leach.

Toth had the best overall placement for the Huskies at the district meet, finishing in fourth place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.28.

Powers-Leach added a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breakststroke with a time of 1:08.21.

He also picked up a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, coming in just behind Toth with a time of 2:28.96.

The duo combined with teammates Austin McArthur and Wyatt Haberstich to take home fifth place in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:03.33.

On the girls side, the Huskies finished with 14 team points led by sophomore Pascal Powers-Leach, who picked up a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley.

Junior Kysa Miller picked up an 11th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 30.96.
