PHIL HAWKINS - Woodburn's Jordan Mann went 3-for-6 with three RBIs in the Bulldogs' victory over Chemawa on May 1.
The Woodburn softball team walked off the field last week with a significant milestone for growing program — a three-game win streak.

The Bulldogs (3-14) beat visiting Chemawa 26-20 on May 1 to complete a three-game sweep in the season series over the Braves for the team's first three-game win streak since 2007.

Woodburn took a commanding 16-3 lead over Chemawa through the first four innings, but the Braves rallied back to the tune of 11 runs in the top of the fifth to make it a 16-14 ball game.

The Bulldogs answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to pad their lead, but Chemawa added five more in the top of the sixth to tie it up at 19-19.

Woodburn rallied once again, this time with their biggest offensive inning of the game, tallying seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 26-19 lead.

The Bulldogs held the Braves to just one run in the seventh to preserve the victory.
