Woodburn Aquatic Center reopened
After being closed for more than a year, the Woodburn Aquatic Center is back. The aquatic center was closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but reopened Wednesday, July 7.
The hours at the aquatic center are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The center will be closed on Sunday. Those hours will remain in place unless more lifeguards are hired, according to aquatic program supervisor Josh Udermann. The aquatic center is hiring additional lifeguards at this time, hopefully an additional 10, Uderman said. There will be earn-as-you-learn lifeguard classes from July 28-30.
There are multiple lifeguard positions available, along with swim instructor and maintenance personnel positions, according to the aquatics website. Applications can be found at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/woodburnor/.
