With the Tri-River Conference (TRC) volleyball season now in the rearview, the league awards have been divvied up to the most deserving players. Both Gervais High School and Kennedy High School volleyball players made the list of the best in the TRC.
The Gervais squad, which finished fourth in league with a Tri-River Conference record of 7-5 and a 9-12 overall record, had a quartet of players receive all-league honors. Five-foot, 10-inch sophomore Olivia Boyd was the lone Cougar to make the all-league first team for her work as a middle blocker and outside hitter.
Freshman setter Addy McCargar and junior middle blocker Lilly McCargar were on the all-league third team, and junior outside hitter Izzy Boyd was an all-league honorable mention.
The lone Kennedy player to be recognized with all-league honors was senior setter Lydia Berning, who received all-league second team distinctions. The Trojans were in the midst of a rebuilding season in 2021, going just 3-9 in the Tri-River Conference and 4-11 overall.
