The Trojans are 9-0 against Special District 2 competition and 10-3 overall, among the very best in the state.


Kennedy's softball program has been humming in recent weeks. Despite stumbling against 3A Dayton on April 15, the Trojans have rattled off nine straight victories over opponents in the 2A/1A Special District 2, and won 10 out of their last 11 overall.

Kennedy recently defeated Culver in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 26, by a combined score of 32-1 (18-0, 14-1). After those encounters with the Bulldogs, the Trojans took to the road and defeated Western Christian 8-1 in the second encounter of the season.

Apart from a doubleheader against Colton on May 10 and a non-league contest against 3A Amity, Kennedy will be facing off against Special District 2 competition for the second time. Already 9-0 in league and ranked No. 5 in the state, Kennedy is well on its way to claiming a league title.

Track and field

Kennedy's track and field teams stepped up to compete against 5A opposition on April 27. The Trojans played host to visiting Silverton, Central and Crescent Valley. While the 5A squads finished most of the events in first place, Kennedy senior Grant Vogel broke through in the 110-meter hurdles, taking first place with a time of 17.38 seconds.
