The sixth annual MadCap Golf Fling was held Aug. 6 and helped to raise money for local girls' scholarships.

The Woodburn PEO Chapter held its sixth annual MadCap Golf Fling on Aug. 6. The MadCap Golf Fling is an annual golf tournament that raised money with the purpose of "empowering and supporting local young women," according to PEO member and tournament organizer Susie Buck.

Nine teams competed in the event, and the winners were as follows:

Men's/Mixed Teams Champions: "Evergreen Men's Club"-- Steve Talbot, Dan Ruffing, Tom Wynkoop, Mike McLaughlin (combined score 35).

Women's Champions: "Groovy Girls"-- Lisa Butler, Pam Buck, Trisha Rager, Teija Danskey (combined score 44).

COURTESY PHOTO: SUSIE BUCK - The theme of this years tournament was Peace, Love, Golf! Baumans Farm and Garden sponsored a team comprised of Nadean Cox, Janice Bernard, Rita Hansen and Betsy Bingham, who won the team theme costume prize.

Other prizes were given out as well. Marina Krieske was the grand prize raffle winner, winning a golf cart for four at OGA Tukwila. The theme of this year's tournament was "Peace, Love, Golf!" and the Bauman's Farm and Garden sponsored a team comprised of Nadean Cox, Janice Bernard, Rita Hansen and Betsy Bingham, who won the team theme costume prize.
