Scouts wheel-it in Broadacres
Woodburn Fire District recently hosted the boys and girls of North Marion Cub Scout Pack No. 624 as they held a Pinewood Derby race at the district's Broadacres Station.
WFD firefighter James Audritch, a pack spokesman, said the scouts competed in several races against each other in a special event staged beyond their normal monthly den meetings.
Pack No. 624 has 14 active scouts from across north Marion County and are sponsored by the Woodburn Kiwanis Club. The pack is starting a fundraising campaign for upcoming summer camps, selling "World's Finest Chocolate" bars, caramel whirls and mint melt-aways for $2 each, and Tillamoook County smoker pepperoni and teriyaki sticks for $1.
