Several graduating seniors from Woodburn High School were invited to Woodburn Estates on Thursday, June 13, to ceremoniously receive Tulip Tee-Up Scholarship awards.
The Tulip Tee-Up awards are for WHS seniors who play on either the school's boys or girls' golf teams and plan to attend college next year.
The ceremony took place in the WE Auditorium where scores of residents were on hand to applaud the budding golf-enthusiast scholars: Jose Carlos Ochoa Delgado, Kaylee-Abril Vasquez Reyes and Bailey Woolley.
Ochoa Delgado said plans on attending Chemeketa Community College and playing on the Storm soccer team and hopefully the school's golf team. His long-term goals are to become an engineer or fitness physician.
Vasquez Reyes will take a year after high school and go to Venezuela or Columbia to do humanitarian work. She then plans to attend the University of Oregon and major in biology and economics.
Woolley plans to attend Chemeketa Community College and earn an associates in nursing before completing her nursing education, likely at OHSU School of Medicine, to become a bilingual obstetrics and gynecology nurse.
