Truck collided with Chevy Tahoe parked on the highway shoulder; crash jams commuter traffic.

A two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 5 northbound near Gervais sent one man to the hospital with critical injuries and slowed commuters.

Oregon State Police said emergency personnel responded to a collision at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 16, near milepost 267 when a Peterbuilt truck traveling north left the road for unknown reasons and went onto the shoulder, where it collided with a parked Chevy Tahoe.

The operator of the Tahoe was being treated at Salem Hospital for what state troopers said were critical injuries. The driver of the truck received minor injuries.

Names of the two people involved have not been released.
