Salem Health, working in conjunction with Marion County Health and Human Services, provided more than 330 COVID-19 vaccinations at the Woodburn Salem Health Clinic between Jan. 28-30, and more will be forthcoming.

Salem Health sources announced this week that the clinic has a goal of making vaccinations more accessible to outlying areas.

"Vaccines mean hope, and we want to make sure everyone has access, no matter where they live or what language they speak," Salem Health president and CEO Cheryl Wolfe said. "Our vaccine clinic in Woodburn is one example of ways we are reaching out to every eligible individual in our service area."

The clinic focused on vaccinating people in Oregon health Authority's Phase 1a group, including educators, childcare workers and members of the Oregon Child Development Coalition, who serve migrant and seasonal workers and their children.

"We are grateful for Salem Health bringing the vaccine clinic to the Woodburn community and look forward to working together to vaccinate our community," said Robert Reyna, program manager, OCDC. "Vaccinations for our child development staff mean a safe environment for the employees and the children and families we serve."

More than 200 vaccines alone were administered Saturday. Salem Health officials reported that wait times were generally between 30 and 45 minutes, including the 15-minute post-vaccination monitoring.

Officials from the clinic and county said they are committed to holding future vaccine clinics in the Woodburn community as supplies become available. Individuals who received their first dose in Woodburn will return to the clinic for their second dose.
