The 115-year-old Portland-based company will ontinue to own and operate Wilsonville Chevrolet.

COURTESY WENTOWRTH AUTO GROUP - Wentworth Chevrolet is located at 107 S.E. Grand Ave. Portland-based Wentworth Auto Group has agreed to sell their two downtown dealerships, Wentworth Subaru and Wentworth Chevrolet, to the Pacific Northwest based O'Brien Auto Group.

The Wentworth family will continue to own and operate Wilsonville Chevrolet. The sale is subject to future approvals by General Motors and Subaru of America.

The Wentworth name has a long history in the car business and on the Portland business scene. Wentworth Auto Group President Bob Wentworth's great grandfather George started in the carriage business in 1903 and moved over to automobiles in 1923. The Wentworth family operated a dealership for many years out of the present site of Powell's Books at Southwest 10th and West Burnside.

In 1977 the Wentworths bought the Chevrolet franchise at its current location at 107 S.E. Grand Ave. They built the Subaru dealership across the street in 2005 and remodeled the Chevrolet dealership in 2014.

O'Brien is a locally owned, customer service focused Northwest company with many successful dealerships, including Toyota of Portland, Kia of Portland and Audi Wilsonville, and that was important when considering the sale, according to Bob Wentworth.
