Subaru Outback tops list of cheapest cars to insure in Oregon
According to a new study by online insurance broker www.carinsurance.com, the 2019 Subaru Outback 2.5i is the least expensive car to insure in Oregon, with a projected cost of $1,104 for the year.
Subarus tend to be very affordable to insure for a number of reasons but one of the biggest ones is the fact that all models come with a suite of advanced safety features as standard equipment.
"Subaru's well-rated EyeSight suite of accident-avoidance technologies are now standard for 2019, which means drivers who choose the base model still get the safety essentials," points out Kelsey Mays, senior editor of Cars.com
Other cars that made the most affordable list include the 2019 Fiat 500X Pop, Subaru Crosstrek, and the Honda Odyssey minivan. The Odyssey can be insured for about $1,131.
According to the study, "These vehicles all have a few things in common, they are pretty affordable, loaded with safety features as standard equipment, and tend to be driven by safety conscious drivers — all things that insurance companies love."
Naturally, insurance prices vary based on your residence location and driving history, and the type and amount of coverage selected. However, the car you purchase has a dramatic effect on insurance costs.
