2020 Buick Enclave offers affordable family luxury
When it comes to a luxury mid-size family SUV, it's hard to find a better value than the 2020 Buick Enclave. In terms of features for the price, it's hard to find a better deal than the Enclave.
Like most mid-size SUVs, the Enclave offers seating for seven passengers in three rows. Buick includes an innovative Smart Slide feature on the second-row seats, making third-row access easy. Cargo capacity is excellent, with up to 97.6 cubic feet behind the front row seats. You also get a 10-inch deep storage compartment under the floor for occasional use items like emergency kits. You can get the Enclave with cloth or leather upholstery, and the first two rows are available with heated seats.
One real luxury benefit with the Enclave is Buick's QuietTuning technology, which incorporates details like active noise cancellation, triple door seals, acoustic glass in the windows, and a smooth five-link rear suspension. All these features work together to make the Enclave's cabin a peaceful environment.
As a family vehicle, the Enclave is available with all the current safety tech. One indispensable feature is the HD Surround Vision camera system, which display's an overhead view of the area around the Enclave as you back up. Blind spot and lane changing assistance, pedestrian detection, and forward collision alerts are also available. Finally, Buick provides access to the OnStar assistance system.
The Enclave is great for around-town use, but it can also work. The optional trailering equipment package adds a heavy-duty cooling system and trailer attachment view to the backup camera, and the Enclave will tow up to 5,000 pounds with the trailering package installed.
The only available engine for the Enclave is a 3.6-liter V6 with a capable 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The engine is matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission and your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. Fuel economy is about average for this type of vehicle at 17 MPG city, 25 MPG highway, and 20 MPG in combined driving.
On the road, the Enclave is smooth and pleasant. Driving over the mountains to the coast, the Enclave handles curves and steep grades with ease. The quiet cabin means that the standard eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system sounds great. Buick includes support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the onboard navigation and satellite radio support is also convenient. You can enjoy the Enclave whether your lift includes road trips or just a slow commute to work each day.
The 2020 Buick Enclave is currently enjoying some manufacturer incentives that have pushed the base price well under $40,000. If you want AWD, leather, and some of the advanced features, you can still get into the Enclave for less than $50,000, which is a great price on a true luxury SUV.
