Top 5 cars to see at Auto Show
There's a vehicle for every purpose and every budget at this year's Portland International Auto Show, but there are also a few vehicles that every show-goer will want to see.
We've picked out five of the most exciting new models, each with something special that has never been seen before.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette
Chevrolet has turned the performance world on its head with the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The eighth-generation Corvette moves the engine behind the driver, creating an exotic-style sports car. The new Corvette uses a 6.2-liter V8 without any turbos or superchargers. It's all true power. A racing-derived coil-over suspension and massive brakes help make this Stingray the fastest and best Corvette ever made. Best of all, it debuts at just $59,995.
2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is undoubtedly the most controversial vehicle at the show. Ford broke all the rules in creating the first Mustang SUV, and the first all-electric Mustang at the same time. The Mach-E is expected to offer up to 300 miles of range. You can order the Mach-E with rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive, another first for the Mustang name. But is it a real Mustang? Ford says the Mustang Mach-E GT will have 459 horsepower and 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. What do you think?
2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid
Honda's first hybrid SUV is cause to celebrate — especially because the CR-V is consistently among the best-selling compact SUVs in America. The 2020 Honda CR-V hybrid uses an advanced two-motor hybrid system with a 2.0-liter gas engine. The new CR-V is expected to achieve a 50% increase in EPA estimated city miles per gallon. All 2020 Honda CR-Vs come with Honda Sensing advanced safety technologies as standard equipment.
2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime
Toyota isn't about to let Honda steal the show. The 2021 RAV4 Prime is the new plug-in hybrid version of Toyota's most popular SUV. This new hybrid will travel up to 39 miles on electric power alone before kicking in its gasoline engine. In addition, this will be the most powerful RAV4 ever made, with 302 horsepower. All-wheel-drive is included because the rear axle gets its own electric motor.
2020 Subaru Outback
The all-new sixth-generation 2020 Subaru Outback is sure to be popular with Northwest buyers. It's built on an entirely new chassis platform and has a bunch of new features, starting with a more powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. Subaru is also throwing in the advanced Eyesight safety system as standard equipment. Subaru has found that Eyesight reduces rear-end collisions by a whopping 85%, and reduces pedestrian impacts by 35%.
