UPDATE: Portland International Raceway and the Portland Expo Center are meeting with organizers to discuss rescheduling

COURTESY PIR - The swap meet at Portland International Raceway will go on, rain or shine. The annual Portland automotive swap meets scheduled for early April have been cancelled because of Oregon Gov. Kate Brown's ban on gatherings of more than 250 people.

The meets had been scheduled for from Thursday, April 2 to Sunday, April 5 in North Portland. The 56th annual Portland Swap Meet was to be held at the Portland Expo Center from Friday to Sunday, while the 15th annual Portland International Raceway Auto Swap Meet would have run from Thursday to Saturday. Event hours start at 7am daily.

We are assembling representatives from the venues and the organizers to look if it may be possible to hold the swap meets on a future date. More information will be forthcoming about rescheduling once it is determined. Thank you for your patience and support during this extraordinary set of circumstances," said PIR manager E.C. Mueller.

Between the two events, several thousand professional and amateur vendors were expected to offer millions of cars, auto parts, tools, memorabilia, and anything automotive-related. There is also traditionally an abundance of Americana, including antique toys, bicycles, vintage signs, neon signs, mannequins, Coca Cola coolers, decked out golf carts, and more.

The two combined events make up one of the largest auto swap meet weekends on the West Coast. Buyers typically budget a full day for each of the two swap meets.

Over the history of the PIR swap meet, it has raised over $100,000 for the Community Transitional School, a local organization that provides educational services to area homeless children.
