The Tigard dealership match donations and more for the Oregon Food Bank through May 29

CONTRIBUTED - Landmark Ford Lincoln in Tigard.Landmark Ford Lincoln has successfully raised $34,490 for the Oregon Food Bank.

The sum included $19,490 in cash donations from the dealership, the community, as well as Landmark customers and staff. The remaining funds came from The Ford Fund Covid-19 Donation Match program, which offered to match local donations up to a total of $15,000.

"When we learned of Ford's Donation Match program, we decided to direct a significant portion of our advertising towards raising local funds," explained Jim Corliss, President of Landmark Ford Lincoln. "It took us just 24 days to exceed Ford's local funding limit, which shows how concerned our customers, employees and the community are about helping feed Oregonians.

"We want to thank everyone who contributed. But we also want to

emphasis that the need for donations to Oregon Food Bank continues. A large percentage of those who have filed for unemployment have yet to receive funds and many people are not eligible. With so many Oregonians now struggling to feed their families, we can't turn our backs."

Through May 29, the Tigard dealership doubled donations up to a total of $30,000 as part of the The Ford Fund Covid-19 Donation Match program.

"Feeding Oregon families is a critical need," Corliss. "We know that our customers and the community want to help. Hunger in our communities is skyrocketing. We can't turn our backs."

With more than 380,000 Oregonians having lost their jobs, the Oregon Food Bank is facing 20% to 60% spikes in demand for hunger relief. The dealership is asking their customers and the community to make cash donations to Oregon Food Bank. Ford will then match the local total. That means for every dollar donated, Oregon Food Bank will receive two dollars.

The Oregon Food Bank distributes food through a statewide network of 21 regional food banks and over 1,200 food assistance sites. The program has a dealership limit if up to $15,000, meaning the total contribution to Oregon Food Bank will be up to $30,000.

Donations are tax deductible and can still be made by calling Landmark Ford Lincoln at 503- 639-1131. Donations can also be made in person seven days a week.

Landmark's showroom is open, the facilities are regularly sanitized, and the entire dealership is practicing social distancing.

Landmark Ford Lincoln is located at 12000 S.W. 66th Ave. Tigard.
