The new models will go on sale by the end of the year as part of the company's plan substantially increase their hybrid and all-electric vehicle sales

The new models are part of the company's commitment to offer hybrid or electric options on 100% of its vehicle lineup by 2025. Toyota executives stated that the company plans for 25% of its sales to be hybrid or electric vehicles by that model year.

2021 Toyota Venza CUV

The Toyota Venza wagon had been discontinued after the 2015 model year, but has now been redesigned as a crossover SUV. The new Venza will be available only as a midsize two-row hybrid with all-wheel-drive. That places the Venza in competition with other premium two-row SUVs such as the Nissan Murano, Ford Edge, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Venza will offer 36.3 cubic feet of cargo area behind the second row seats.

The hybrid drivetrain in the Venza combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors delivering a combined 219 system horspower. Venza's Predictive Efficient Drive (PED) uses the navigation system operation to analyze driving habits and memorize road and traffic conditions to help optimize hybrid battery charging. When approaching a downhill section, for example, the system is designed to apply additional engine braking force to more efficiently charge the hybrid battery after the accelerator pedal is released.

Inside, the Venza offers a clean, modern design, with an 8-inch or 12.3-inch display screen mounted high on the dash. However, the most attractive interior feature is the electrochromatic panoramic glass roof. This active feature screens almost 100% of UV rays with normal transparency, but changes to a translucent frosted look at the touch of a button.

The new Venza will include the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package of advanced safety equipment, plus standard blind spot monitoring. The package includes variable speed adaptive cruise control. Electronic all-wheel-drive will be standard, using electric motors to power the rear wheels. Toyota estimates that the new Venza will achieve a combined city/highway fuel economy rating of 40 MPG. The 2021 Venza will be available at dealers this summer.

2021 Toyota Sienna Minivan

The fourth generation of Toyota's popular Sienna family van will also be available only as a hybrid. All-wheel-drive will be optional on this model. Toyota's redesign has given the Sienna a more SUV-like appearance, with a longer hood over the drivetrain. The Sienna features motion-activated slider doors, an integrated vacuum cleaner, and a refrigerated compartment accessible from the second row seats.

The new Sienna will be available in three distinct trim levels, including a sporty XSE, mid-grade Limited, and luxury Platinum trim. Like the Venza, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and blind spot monitoring will be standard on all trim levels. A rear seat reminder and all-wheel-drive will be optional on all three trim levels. Toyota expects combined city/highway fuel economy of 33 MPG.

The all-new Sienna was designed in the United States and will be produced in Princeton, Indiana. Toyota expects the 2021 Sienna at dealerships late in calendar 2020.
