Major races resume at Portland International Raceway
Although many large outdoor events are in limbo because of COVID-19 attendance restrictions, several major races are scheduled for Portland International Raceway this summer.
The city-owned raceway in North Portland postponed its largest events when the pandemic struck early last year. It has already been allowing in-car activities and limited auto club racing. Those placed on hold included the annual Rose Cup Races and the Indycar Grand Prix of Portland. But now they are back on the calendar, along with a double-header of West Coast Trans Am and SVRA vintage races.
The events will take place with whatever Oregon Health Authority attendance restrictions are in effect for Multnomah County at the time.
Major events currently include: 60th Rose Cup Races, July 9 to 11; West Coast Trans Am and SVRA vintage races, July 23 to 25; and the Indycar Grand Prix of Portland, Sept. 10 to 12.
Portland International Raceway is located at 1940 N Victory Blvd. The full schedule of events can be found at www.portlandraceway.com.
