Landmark Ford Lincoln commits to tree planting program
Landmark Ford Lincoln has entered into a partnership with The Carbon Offset Company to provide funding to plant 15 trees for every retail new or used vehicle sale.
"Our management team came to the unanimous decision that as a company we are no
longer going to sit back and watch our planet change without doing our part to help
improve it," explained Jim Corliss, president of the Tigard dealership. "Our partnership
with the Carbon Offset Company allows us to align our ideals and help make the earth a better place for generations to come."
The Carbon Offset Company was founded to enable businesses and individuals to offset their carbon footprint. Planting trees throughout America, including in the Northwest, the company's efforts have also extended to Africa. Much of the replanting effort is directed to areas devastated by wildfires.
Using historic sales levels as an estimate, Landmark Ford Lincoln's commitment will
fund the planting of tens of thousands of trees each year. "Ford and Lincoln have and
continue to make tremendous progress in building 'greener' vehicles," added Corliss.
"We're trying to do our part on a local level.
