Volkswagen offers test-drives of the all-electric VW ID.4 at Bridgeport Village
VW is offering free test-drives of its all-new ID.4 electric crossover SUV at Bridgeport Village in Tualatin through this coming Sunday, June 20. Appointments are available, or you can just walk up and sign up for the drive. The test drive route takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The Volkswagen ID.4 is a five-passenger crossover SUV design, with about 30 cubic feet of cargo area behind the second row, or over 60 cubic feet with the second-row seats folded down. The ID.4 model in use for the test drive is a rear-wheel-drive model with about 250 miles of range. All-wheel-drive is available on the ID.4 or order or at dealers.
Driving the ID.4 is similar to comparable EVs from other manufacturers. The SUV is whisper quiet, offers good acceleration, and can tow up to 2,700 pounds. Drivers who are familiar with automatic transmission will have no trouble adapting to the ID.4.
At launch in the U.S., the 2021 ID.4 offers an 82kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor with 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. The ID.4 supports Level 2 and DC Fast Charging, and can take on a significant charge quickly at one of Portland's many DC Fast Charging stations. For example, the ID.4 can go from five to 80 percent charge in about 38 minutes using a 125 kW DC charging station.
ID.4 trim options are simple. There are three basic trims and one option package. The entry-level Pro starts at $39,995, before a potential Federal tax credit of up to $7,500 and additional Oregon tax credits. Starting later in 2021, the ID.4 AWD Pro will be available with a starting price of $43,675.
Pro S models are priced from $44,495, and add styling and comfort features. A Gradient option package is available for $1,500, and includes larger wheels and further design differentiators. AWD Pro S models will be priced from $48,175 on arrival later this year. The destination fee for all ID.4 models is $1,195.
Ride and drive opportunities are available at Bridgeport starting at 10 AM each day, or 11 AM on Sunday, and last until 6 or 7 PM. To book an appointment, visit: www.id4roadshow.com/event_home_vw
