GMC has revealed two new trim levels to its upscale Sierra full-size half-ton pickup truck line. The Denali Ultimate is a new top trim level with unprecedented luxury, while the AT4X builds on the previous AT4 off-road model with even more capability. The 2022 Sierra also receives numerous additional features throughout its extensive trim level lineup.

Sierra Denali Ultimate

The Sierra Denali Ultimate includes a long list of standard or available high-tech and luxury features, such as first-in-class trailering-capable Super Cruise. GM's Super Cruise technology allows steering-assisted driving on hundreds of thousands of miles of US and Canadian highways.

Next, the segment-exclusive CarbonPro carbon fiber composite bed offers a damage-resistant and lightweight option for the cargo area. Finally, the Denali Ultimate trim includes GMC's six-way MultiPro tailgate, the Denali Premium Suspension with segment-exclusive Adaptive Ride Control, and power assist steps.

Inside, the Denali Ultimate's Alpine Umber interior builds on the already luxurious Denali cabin, with full-grain leather appointments and open-pore Paldao wood trim. The wood's darkened finish creates a distinctive color blend, while the unique graining adds bespoke attention to detail.

When it comes to propulsion, the Sierra Denali Ultimate's standard engine is GMC's 420-hp, 6.2-liter V8 and it is matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission featuring Electronic Precision Shift. Four-wheel drive, with an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case, is standard.

The base price for the Sierra Denali Ultimate is $80,395.

The new AT4X trim builds on the AT4 off-road package and includes the same 6.2-liter V8 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, and then installs an off-road suspension featuring Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers and longer springs that increase maximum front and rear suspension travel by several inches compared with the standard AT4 suspension. Additionally, the AT4X includes a rock crawling mode, front and rear electronically-locking differentials, and a large skid plate for the transfer case.

The interior features authentic, dark Vanta ash wood trim, best-in-class 16-way power-adjustable and massaging front seats, a premium microsuede headliner, a 15-inch-diagonal Head-Up Display, power sliding rear window, power sunroof, and a 12-speaker Bose premium series audio system.

The 2022 Sierra AT4X has a payload capability of 1,420 pounds and its tow rating is 8,900 pounds. The base price for this model will be $74,995.
