The newest pickups of all sizes are on display at the 2022 Portland International Auto Show.

The best-selling vehicles in America have been full-sized trucks in recent years, including the Ford F-Series, Ram Trucks, and Chevy Silverado.

However, not everyone needs that much truck, and manufacturers are now producing a growing number of smaller trucks. Four trucks accelerate that trend in 2022, including the first two compact trucks produced in many years and two redesigned midsize trucks.

The all-new compact Ford Maverick is a unibody truck that comes standard with a four-door crew cab, front-wheel-drive and a hybrid powerplant estimated at 42 city mpg. The Maverick can also be ordered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 250 horsepower, all-wheel-drive, and an off-road package. The starting price is around $20,000.

Other 2022 midsize trucks include the Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Jeep Gladiator, and Toyota Tacoma.

The 2022 Portland International Auto Show runs Feb. 24-27 at the Oregon Convention Center.
