The Cooper Tires Oregon Trail Rally presented by Wilsonville Subaru returns to Portland and the Columbia Gorge area on May 20-22, 2022.
The three-day Oregon Trail Rally offers a special challenge to rally teams with its diverse stages, high speeds, technical turns, and sometimes difficult road surfaces. This rally features some of the biggest stars in action sports, including Travis Pastrana, Ken Block, and Brandon Semenuk. In all, more than 75 local and professional teams will compete in this year's event.
The Oregon Trail Rally will run in its traditional format with super special spectator stages at Portland International Raceway on Friday evening, May 20. The PIR stages combine the asphalt of the racing circuit with gravel service roads in and around the track. With cars starting at short intervals, the continuous race action makes PIR a fan favorite. Teams are easily accessible for photos and autographs prior to the start.
After the PIR stages, the Oregon Trail Rally moves east to the scenic Columbia Gorge where teams will experience the much faster closed county and private roads near Goldendale, Washington on Saturday and Dufur, Oregon on Sunday. The stages around Goldendale feature a new challenge with alternating loops of gravel and tarmac roads, including the historic Maryhill Loops road.
Sunday's stages near Dufur are also fan favorites because of the famed Boyd Loop Jump and the new Primitive Racing Power Stage where competitors will be pushing that much harder to earn extra championship points.
There is no charge to spectate on Saturday or Sunday, and everyone is invited to the closing podium ceremonies in downtown Dufur at about 5 pm on Sunday. Advance tickets and an event program with times and locations for viewing is available at PIR and online at oregontrailrally.com.
