n Erik Bergman receives award for outstanding service and leadership
For The Review, Tidings
District 7 Toastmasters serving Oregon and southwest Washington has named Erik Bergman Division Governor of the Year for outstanding service and leadership during 2014-2015.
Bergman was governor of the Willamette Division (Division E) last year. It was the first division in the district to achieve Presidents distinguished status, indicating excellence in membership and educational achievement. Bergman has earned the title of Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest educational award given by Toastmasters International.
Bergman loves hearing or telling a great story. Its what keeps him engaged as an eight-year member of WE Toasted Toastmasters in Lake Oswego. A content strategy manager for global public relationship firm WE Communications, his 30-year career spans journalism, advertising and public relations as writer and editor for online and print outlets. He is club growth director for District 7 Toastmasters, and in this role helps start new Toastmasters clubs across the district.
Those of us in WE Toasted and District 7 deeply appreciate Eriks commitment, leadership and service to our club and district, said Laura Handke, WE Toasted vice president of public relations. As a new Toastmaster myself, Erik has been my mentor, so I am especially appreciative.
District 7 offers the Toastmasters communication and leadership development programs and serves approximately 3,000 members in 176 clubs across Oregon, southwest Washington and northern California. For more information, visit d7toastmasters.org.
