West Linn High School raised about $2,940 during the school's annual Mr./Ms. West Linn Competition Friday, Nov. 30.

During the week of Nov. 26-30, seniors collected donations while in costume for each day's dress-up theme: "Senior Citizens," "Denim Day," "Groutfit Day," — two or more gray articles of clothing worn together — "Superhero Day" and "Spirit Day."

Mr./Ms. CompetitionThe week was filled with challenges and culminated in a pageant. The pageant opened with a group dance and was followed by a costume competition where students created their own superhero costume and explained their superpower, a lip sync battle, a formal wear question and answer session and a silent auction.

Faith Varga was crowned Ms. West Linn based on judging by a point system. The purpose of the competition was to raise awareness and funds for the Clackamas County Coalition for Suicide Prevention.
