Planting efforts at White Oak Savanna bring busloads of youth, some older folks

A grower in Washington State donated 150 sword fern plants for the effort, and online nursery Heritage Seedlings donated free shipping on 700 camas bulbs planted by more than 200 West Linn students last week.

Earlier this month, a group of Girl Scouts who've been together since the 1970s (one member is 96 years old) and enjoy hiking strolled through the savanna and enjoyed a break at the bench constructed by West Linn Girl Scouts.
