Pamplin Media is looking for youth who make a difference in their communities - and you can help

Do you know a young person in West Linn who goes above and beyond? A student who puts the needs of others before themselves, or someone who has overcome hardship but still perseveres to make a difference in their community?

Nominate them for our annual Amazing Kids awards!PMG FILE PHOTO - The 2019 Amazing Kids selected by Pamplin Media Group newspapers pose for a photo at OMSI with Robert B. Pamplin Jr., owner of the Pamplin Media Group.

Each year, the Tidings chooses an outstanding kid from our area and features them in a special magazine all about the work being done by Portland-area youth to make the world a better place.

Last year, the Tidings chose Haden Misra, a West Linn High School well known for his hard work and leadership both at school and with his Boy Scout troop. Haden built a new May Pole for the school, which will celebrate its 100th May Day this year.

The magazine will be inserted in the newspaper and distributed in 20 other Pamplin Media Group publications in May, reaching more than 425,000 readers.

The deadline for nominations is March 9.

While the nominee may be skilled in academic studies, sports, dance, music or other disciplines, community service will be one of the primary criteria we'll consider.

Nominees can be enrolled as a student at a private, public or charter school, or be home-schooled, but they must be in elementary, middle or high school, and they must live in the greater Wilsonville area.
