Tuesday, Feb. 16 will be a snow day for West Linn-Wilsonville students, as widespread power outages and internet disruptions halt distance learning.
West Linn Wilsonville School District announced the cancellation for Tuesday, citing that Portland General Electric is reporting a delayed ability to restore power to many residents at least through Tuesday.
In a letter to the community, the district said that neither comprehensive distance learning nor the district's fully online program will take place tomorrow.
All buildings will be closed and no limited in-person instruction, meal service or co-curricular activities will take place.
Power outages across most of Clackamas County and into parts of the Portland metro area caused disruptions to electricity, internet and water supplies.
The district will continue to monitor the situation and update the community on the status of school operations.
