In an email to families Thursday, March 11, West Linn-Wilsonville School District Assistant Superintendent of High Schools Aaron Downs announced that current Principal Saskia Dresler will depart March 22 as she moves to a new job with the Oregon Department of Education. Rebecca Snook, who currently serves as the district's director of online programs for high school, will serve as interim principal. "Thank you to Saskia for her incredible vision, leadership and advocacy for Arts and Technology High School during the past several years," Downs wrote in the message. "Though we are excited for her new opportunity to work at the state level, we will miss working with her on a daily basis. Many of you know Saskia personally and I know she has appreciated the personal connections she's made with all of the families in this community."

Snook will serve as interim principal through the end of this school year. She taught science at Wilsonville High School for several years and has been with the district for a total of nine years.

"I look forward to building upon the amazing attributes of this dynamic school community that you have worked so tirelessly to create," Snook said in a letter to families. "Thank you for welcoming me and allowing me to learn alongside you as we work toward the successful completion of this extraordinary school year. Saskia has been an incredible visionary, leader and advocate of ATHS and I will work closely with her to ensure a smooth transition."

"Rebecca has been an active member of our high school community, has been a Unified soccer coach, taught credit recovery courses, served as a class advisor, varsity soccer coach and led a year-long districtwide new teacher training," Downs said, adding that Snook has already been working with Arts and Technology staff to help transition into the new role.

Dresler was honored as one of Pamplin Media Group's Amazing Educators earlier this year.
