West Linn-Wilsonville community members in need will get computers from DW Fritz

The West Linn-Wilsonville Family Empowerment Center received a donation from DW Fritz earlier this month. DW Fritz, an automation company with headquarters in Wilsonville, donated 17 Dell laptop computers and power cords to the FEC for families within the district.

Bilingual Family Engagement Specialist Maria Horton said DW Fritz contacted Meridian Creek Middle School Principal Annikke Olson about the donation, and Olson thought the laptops would better serve the community through the Family Empowerment Center.

Horton said the laptops eventually will be donated to individual families through the FEC, but the FEC team needs to meet first to discuss the process for assessing the community's needs.

"We want to make sure that it goes to those who really need it," Horton said.

Horton said the FEC is happy to help meet the community's tangible needs and families should not be shy about reaching out.

In fact, the FEC gets a donation of bread from Fred Meyer to give out to the community every Friday.
